Find answers to common questions about EmeraldCare’s approach to behavioral health, treatment options, and what to expect on your journey.
EmeraldCare provides mental health evaluations, psychiatric medication management, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid and alcohol dependence. You can receive care either in person at our Manchester office or from home through telehealth. While we don’t provide therapy or counseling directly, we’re happy to refer you to trusted, licensed providers in your community.
No referral is required. You can contact us directly to schedule a mental health evaluation or learn more about your treatment options. We’ll guide you through the next steps.
Mental health treatment focuses on managing conditions like anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorder. It often includes psychiatric medications and therapy. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is designed to treat substance use disorders using FDA-approved medications, sometimes combined with mental health support or counseling. Many patients benefit from both types of care, depending on their needs.
EmeraldCare doesn’t offer therapy, but we regularly refer patients to trusted therapists in the community. If you’re already working with a therapist, we’re happy to coordinate so your care stays aligned.
That’s something we’ll explore together during your initial evaluation. Your provider will take time to understand your symptoms, concerns, and goals before making any recommendations. If medication seems helpful, we’ll explain your options and support you every step of the way.
We prescribe FDA-approved medications like Suboxone, Subutex, Zubsolv, Sublocade, Brixadi, and Vivitrol. Your provider will work with you to choose the option that best fits your needs and recovery goals.

It depends on your treatment plan. Early on, we may check in more often to make sure your medication is working well. Once things stabilize, appointments may become less frequent. We’ll always let you know when to expect your next check-in, and we’re here anytime in between.
